Altcoins Fail to Outperform Bitcoin as Season Index Holds at 43

  • Altcoin Season Index at 43 shows most altcoins lost to Bitcoin in 90 days.
  • $FARTCOIN downtrend persists for 86 days with volume at 44.77 billion.
  • Market remains neutral, allowing movement depending on inflows and sentiment.

Crypto markets have seen sustained pressure on altcoins despite Bitcoin’s stability. Altcoin Sherpa’s analysis of $FARTCOIN shows an 86-day downtrend.

Trading volume reached 44.77 billion over this period, indicating high activity even during losses. The 200-day moving average remains above current prices, showing ongoing weakness in the altcoin market.

Bitcoin’s relative strength has drawn capital away from smaller coins. Analysts note that many altcoins are struggling to maintain momentum, and investors are cautious. Altcoin Sherpa suggested that coins like $FARTCOIN may lead the next recovery later this year.

Understanding the Altcoin Season Index Score

The Altcoin Season Index (ASI) measures how altcoins perform compared to Bitcoin over the past 90 days. A score of 75 or higher indicates that altcoins dominate the market. With the current score at 43, most altcoins are still underperforming Bitcoin.

Blockchain Center explains that this number reflects a neutral zone rather than a bearish one. “A score of 43 shows more capital flowed into Bitcoin or stablecoins during the period,” analysts said. This suggests that the market could move either way depending on macro conditions and investor behavior.

Market Outlook for Altcoins

Despite the underperformance, the ASI score does not indicate absolute weakness. Neutral conditions mean altcoins can recover if inflows increase. Factors like institutional participation, new financial products, or broader market trends could shift sentiment.

Investors are watching key support levels and trading volumes. Persistent downtrends like the one in $FARTCOIN illustrate caution in the market, while Bitcoin continues to act as a safe asset. Analysts recommend monitoring trends closely before reallocating capital.
