- CME plans BCH and UNI futures for October 19, pending regulatory review.
- Standard and Micro contracts will provide different exposure sizes.
- CME crypto volume averaged $8.3 billion in daily notional value in H1.
CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The exchange said client demand for regulated crypto exposure drove the new contracts.
CME shares previously closed at $275.53, down 0.17%, while crypto derivatives remain a smaller growth business. The launch would broaden CME crypto futures beyond Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, and several newer altcoin contracts.
Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures Add New Contract Sizes
CME announced that it will offer standard and Micro versions of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures. Standard Bitcoin Cash contracts will represent 250 BCH, while Micro contracts will cover 25 BCH. Uniswap contracts will represent 10,000 UNI, while Micro versions will cover 1,000 UNI.
Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures will settle in cash rather than deliver tokens at expiry. This structure lets market participants gain price exposure without holding BCH or UNI directly. CME plans to list the contracts on Globex under existing exchange rules.
The products will use CME CF reference rates for settlement. Those benchmarks already support other crypto derivatives within CME’s regulated market infrastructure. The new contracts therefore extend an existing system rather than create a separate trading structure.
Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures Extend CME Crypto Reach
CME has expanded its cryptocurrency lineup throughout 2026 as demand for regulated hedging tools increased. Existing contracts cover Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.Â
Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures would add another payments-focused token and a major decentralized finance asset.
CME said crypto futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts daily during the first half of 2026. That activity represented $8.3 billion in average daily notional value. Average open interest reached 264,600 contracts, worth about $15.4 billion in notional value.
CME’s 2026 additions covering Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui generated more than $1 billion in notional value. The exchange also moved cryptocurrency futures and options to 24/7 trading in May.
Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures would enter that regulated market if the October launch clears review. Bitcoin Cash originated as a Bitcoin fork, while Uniswap operates a decentralized exchange using automated liquidity pools.
