EigenCloud (EIGEN) is attracting renewed market attention after a strong rally and growing optimism around a key governance proposal. The EIGEN Price rose to $0.2786 at press time, gaining 3.69% over the past 24 hours after posting a much larger intraday advance. Investors are increasingly focused on EigenLayer’s upcoming ELIP-12 vote, which could significantly alter how value flows through the ecosystem.
EIGEN Price Gains Momentum Ahead of ELIP-12 Vote
The recent rise in EIGEN Price comes as market participants assess the potential impact of ELIP-12. According to commentary shared by aixbt, the proposal would transform EIGEN from a governance-focused token into one with direct revenue exposure.
Under the proposal, token holders could benefit from revenue generated by EigenDA, EigenCloud, and Darkbloom. The framework would also allocate a portion of third-party AVS fees to the protocol. Early community support reportedly stands near 67%, with voting expected between July and August.
Supporters argue that the proposal could strengthen the long-term value proposition of EigenLayer. Critics, however, note that failure to pass the measure could weaken the current investment thesis.
EigenLayer Fundamentals Continue Expanding Despite Past Weakness
Beyond price action, operational metrics remain a major focus. EigenLayer currently secures more than $20 billion in restaked assets, while its market capitalization remains around $186 million according to data highlighted by aixbt.
The platform has also expanded its operator network. Despite a prolonged price decline from previous highs, operator participation reportedly increased from 950 to 1,200. That represents growth of approximately 26%, suggesting continued infrastructure development.
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe also highlighted the token’s strength. He noted that EIGEN Price recently reached a new high among his portfolio positions and suggested momentum could continue if broader crypto markets stabilize.
Bitcoin remains an important variable. Van de Poppe stated that a sustained move above the 200-week moving average and a push toward the $67,000 to $68,000 region could improve conditions for altcoins, including EigenLayer.
