- ICE plans a regulated U.S. perpetual futures venue with TradeXYZ, subject to approvals.
- HYPE rose approximately 15% to $91.21 in the reported market snapshot.
- The companies have not announced a launch date or detailed token-related fee arrangements.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE token rose approximately 15% to $91.21 on October 29 after ICE announced a partnership with TradeXYZ. The NYSE parent plans to operate regulated U.S. perpetual futures markets using blockchain infrastructure. The agreement includes a strategic investment, but regulatory approvals remain outstanding and neither company has announced a launch date.
Hyperliquid Partnership Gives ICE a New Retail Market Plan
Under the announced agreement, ICE would exclusively operate the regulated markets and establish dedicated exchange and clearing infrastructure. TradeXYZ would design and implement the contracts.
Hyperliquid would supply the underlying technology through HIP-3, which allows developers to deploy perpetual markets. Planned products cover cryptocurrencies, equities, indices, commodities and foreign exchange.
Perpetual futures have no fixed expiry date and can provide leveraged exposure to price movements. They do not give traders ownership of the stocks or commodities they track.
Customers would access the proposed venue through participating brokers, including futures commission merchants. Identity verification and anti-money-laundering checks would form part of the onboarding process.
ICE intends to separate this retail business from its existing institutional futures and clearing operations. CEO Jeffrey Sprecher described the initiative as an addition to the company’s established futures franchise.
Hyperliquid Rally Leaves Approval and Token Questions Open
At $91.21, HYPE remained approximately 6.9% below its reported September record of $97.96. The price response reflects market enthusiasm, while approval and customer access remain future milestones.
In its announcement on X, TradeXYZ said its existing markets had surpassed $650 billion in cumulative volume. That figure covers activity over just over a year, not funds deposited or company revenue.
Investor Stanley Druckenmiller publicly backed the partnership, identifying himself as a TradeXYZ investor. His statement said he was interested in using the proposed products in his investment process.
The announcement does not specify how the U.S. venue would contribute fees or other economic benefits to HYPE holders. Existing offshore Hyperliquid markets will continue operating while the separate U.S. business develops. TradeXYZ says product availability, customer eligibility and launch timing will be disclosed as approvals progress.
