Pineapple Becomes First Public Firm to Hold INJ With $100M Fund

  • Pineapple raised $100M to build the world’s largest public INJ treasury.
  • Investors include Kraken, FalconX, Blockchain.com, and the Injective Foundation.
  • INJ offers an estimated annual staking yield of 12% for treasury returns.

Pineapple Financial, a fintech company listed on Wall Street under the ticker $PAPL, has launched a $100 million digital asset treasury focused exclusively on Injective’s native token, INJ. The initiative marks the first time a public company has dedicated its treasury strategy to INJ, creating a new link between blockchain-based finance and traditional financial markets.

The company confirmed the strategy through an official statement, explaining that all proceeds from its private capital raise will go toward accumulating INJ. The announcement was also shared by the Injective ecosystem, whose blockchain network has seen increased use in 2025.

Traditional and Crypto Investors Join the Strategy

The $100 million fund was raised through a private placement and attracted interest from both traditional finance and crypto-native firms. Notable investors include FalconX, Kraken, Monarq, Abraxas, Blockchain.com, Canary Capital, and the Injective Foundation. This diverse investor base indicates rising interest in asset tokenization and decentralized financial infrastructure.

Pineapple’s leadership described the move as an effort to align fintech operations with the evolving blockchain ecosystem. By holding INJ in its treasury, the company aims to explore the use of token-based assets within standard financial models.

Eric Chen, co-founder of Injective, commented on the development, stating, “This is a milestone in connecting Wall Street with blockchain-based finance.”

INJ Treasury to Offer Yield and Blockchain Exposure

Injective’s INJ token was selected due to its strong staking incentives and blockchain capabilities. The token currently offers an estimated annual yield of 12% through staking, which Pineapple expects to generate returns on while holding a liquid blockchain asset.

According to Pineapple, the treasury will be gradually deployed over the coming months to purchase INJ. This phased approach is designed to optimize token accumulation and manage exposure in a controlled manner.

Injective’s blockchain has processed over $60 billion in transactions to date. Its features, such as low fees and institutional-grade infrastructure, were key reasons behind Pineapple’s selection of INJ for its treasury strategy.

Pineapple’s team also noted that blockchain technology could improve transparency and speed up settlement for financial processes like lending and securitization.
