- Shiba Inu warns community against scams tied to LEASH v2.
- Developers confirm fixed supply for LEASH v2 with fair migration.
- Public testnet and bug bounty planned before LEASH v2 release.
The Shiba Inu team has warned its community about a new wave of scams. The alert was issued after fake accounts began impersonating official channels. These accounts are spreading false claims about early access to LEASH v2. Holders have been urged to rely only on the project’s official website.
Fake Offers Circulating in Community
Lucie, a well-known Shiba Inu community figure, shared details of the scam attempts. She reported that attackers are creating fake profiles to trick users with promises of presales, private airdrops, and secret deals.
According to her, none of these offers are real. She clarified that there will be no presales, hidden opportunities, or private distribution linked to LEASH v2.
Lucie stressed that the only migration process will take place on the official website, shib.io. She explained that scammers are setting up fraudulent channels and using the names of tokens linked to Shiba Inu.
Their goal is to push holders into connecting wallets or sending tokens. This often results in stolen funds. She reminded users that no member of the Shiba Inu team will request wallet keys or direct transfers.
The warning comes during a period of rising fraud across crypto markets. The Shiba Inu team had earlier noted that several new impersonation cases appeared in August.
LEASH v2 Development Update
While scams have been spreading, developers confirmed that the LEASH v2 upgrade is in progress. A Shiba Inu developer stated that the team uncovered old code left by the original creator. That code led to a supply issue within the token. To fix this, the new version will enforce a fixed supply, preventing the creation of additional tokens.
The team explained that migration will follow a burn-to-claim process, ensuring fairness for holders. They also revealed that an external auditor has been hired to review the smart contract. Discussions with exchanges are underway to prepare for listing support.
