XRPL Apex 2025 Unveils Stablecoins, Treasuries, and Institutional Finance Tools
- Five stablecoins launched on XRPL, expanding global onchain liquidity options.
- Ondo’s tokenized treasuries now offer 24/7 access via RLUSD.
The XRP Ledger took a leap forward at Apex 2025, reflecting a sharp shift toward institutional blockchain adoption. RippleX revealed that five fiat-backed stablecoins are now live on the XRP Ledger: USDC, RLUSD, EURØP, XSGD, and USDB. Each serves specific regional and regulatory purposes, offering secure, onchain liquidity across Europe, Asia, and North America. According to RippleX, these additions mark XRPL’s evolution into a global settlement platform.
Ondo Finance launched its tokenized U.S. Treasuries (OUSG) on XRPL. Users can mint and redeem OUSG using RLUSD, allowing 24/7 access to one of the most secure financial assets globally. Guggenheim Treasury Services, in partnership with Zeconomy, introduced the first digital commercial paper (DCP) on XRPL. The DCP, backed by U.S. Treasuries and rated Prime-1 by Moody’s, adds to XRPL’s growing real-world asset (RWA) offerings.

Ripple also announced a strategic partnership with Japan’s Web3 Salon. Funded by JETRO and Ripple’s Japan & Korea Fund, this initiative offers grants up to $200,000 to local blockchain startups. The collaboration aims to boost regional Web3 innovation through ecosystem support and mentorship.
Institutional Tools, Academic Innovation, and New Developer Features
At the close of Apex 2025, Ripple CTO David Schwartz and Mayukha Vadari presented the future roadmap for XRPL programmability. They highlighted upcoming features such as Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), a permissioned decentralized exchange (DEX), and onchain credentials for KYC compliance.
RippleX stated that these tools aim to support complex real-world assets and build compliant markets for institutions. Features like Permissioned Domains and Credentials will allow regulated participants to interact securely on the public ledger.
Running alongside Apex, the UBRI Connect event gathered over 160 academic participants from institutions like Cornell, Berkeley, and UCL. Hosted at the National University of Singapore, the event included panels on tokenization, blockchain security, and post-quantum systems.
The 36-hour XRPL hackathon drew 250 developers. Nine out of ten finalists were student-led, and nearly half of all winners came from UBRI-affiliated universities. Ripple concluded UBRI Connect with its annual awards and a community dinner before rejoining Apex sessions.
In conclusion, RippleX’s Apex 2025 showed how blockchain infrastructure and institutional finance are converging on XRPL. With enterprise-focused features and global developer engagement, XRPL is being built for the next phase of onchain finance.
