- ZCSH shareholders receive three shares for every pre-split share they hold.
- The split changes share count but preserves each investment’s total value.
- Rising ZEC prices have attracted more miners and intensified network competition.
Grayscale’s Zcash ETF plans a 3-for-1 forward share split less than one month after its NYSE Arca debut, according to GlobeNewswire. ZEC traded near $1,450 on Friday after touching an intraday high above $1,520. The fund has attracted over $233 million in cumulative inflows since launching on August 25. The split follows rapidly expanding market activity around Zcash.
Zcash ETF Share Split Preserves Total Investor Value
According to Grayscale’s SEC filing, shareholders of record at market close on September 28 will qualify for the split. Each existing share will become three shares, with two additional shares distributed after the September 29 close.
Split-adjusted trading will begin before the market opens on September 30. The adjustment will triple outstanding shares while reducing the fund’s net asset value per share proportionally.
The Zcash ETF will retain its ZCSH ticker, NYSE Arca listing, and existing CUSIP number. The ZCSH share split will not increase or reduce any shareholder’s total investment value.
Investor demand has remained strong since the fund’s August launch. The Zcash ETF held roughly $890 million in net assets and exceeded $11 billion in cumulative volume by September 17.
Daily inflows included over $112 million on September 8 and approximately $46.6 million on Wednesday. Those flows helped push cumulative investment above $233 million.
Zcash ETF Demand Coincides With Record ZEC Mining Activity
The ZEC price rally has also attracted greater computing power to Zcash mining. CoinGecko showed ZEC near $1,450, gaining about 24% over seven days.
Zcash Info data showed estimated solrate rising from roughly 25 GSol/s in late August to almost 32 GSol/s. That represents an increase near 28% within several weeks.
Mining difficulty climbed alongside solrate and reached approximately 291 million, setting a network record. Greater computing power can strengthen network security by making attacks more expensive.
However, rising difficulty intensifies competition for each fixed block reward. Machines receive a smaller reward share when more computing power joins the network.
Estimated gross revenue for Bitmain’s Z15 Pro fell below late-August levels earlier this month. That decline occurred despite ZEC’s strong price appreciation.
