Bury 2.0 Beta Goes Live: Shiba Inu Empowers Shibizens with Governance Staking

The Shiba Inu ecosystem marked a significant milestone with the beta launch of Bury 2.0, a revamped staking platform announced via an X post by Shibarium Updates (@Shibizens).

This upgrade introduces governance-focused staking for SHIB, LEASH, BONE, and TREAT token holders, enabling them to participate in decentralized decision-making within their respective DAOs. While staking rewards are not yet active, this phase emphasizes community empowerment, allowing Shibizens to have their voices heard in shaping the ecosystem’s future.

The Bury 2.0 platform, as showcased in the X post, features a sleek interface where users can stake tokens like TREAT to receive Vote Escrowed tokens (veTokens), such as veTREAT. These veTokens grant voting power proportional to the staking duration, incentivizing long-term commitment. This mechanism, inspired by models like Curve Finance’s vote escrow system, ensures that engaged stakeholders drive key decisions, fostering a truly decentralized governance structure. The Shiba Inu team has clarified that staking rewards tokenomics will be revealed in a future update, keeping the community eagerly anticipating further developments.

This launch builds on the Shiba Inu Doggy DAO, introduced in April 2025, which established a community-led governance framework. The DAO enables Shibizens to propose ideas, vote on fund allocation, and steer initiatives, all recorded transparently on the blockchain. Bury 2.0 enhances this vision by integrating staking with governance, redefining user participation in the Web3 space. As noted in related posts, the Shiba Inu ecosystem continues to evolve, with Shibarium’s Layer-2 solution driving lower transaction costs and fostering decentralization.

The Shibizens’ X thread sparked excitement within the community, with users sharing celebratory memes and artwork, reflecting the vibrant ShibArmy spirit. This move underscores Shiba Inu’s shift from a meme coin to a serious player in DeFi, empowering its community to shape a decentralized future. As Bury 2.0 progresses, all eyes are on how Shibizens will leverage their newfound governance powers to propel the ecosystem forward.
