Altcoin Sell Pressure has reached a new multi-year low, according to the latest market data from CryptoQuant. The analytics platform reports that spot market selling continues to outweigh buying across alternative cryptocurrencies, excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum. The trend has now extended for more than 15 months, highlighting the lack of sustained demand despite periodic market rebounds.
Altcoin Sell Pressure Reaches Another Historic Extreme
CryptoQuant contributor IT Tech shared updated data showing that Altcoin Sell Pressure continues to intensify. The indicator tracks the cumulative difference between buy and sell volume in the spot market for altcoins, excluding Bitcoin and Ether.
A falling reading signals that more traders are selling than buying. The metric already reached a five-year low during June but has since moved even lower. According to the analyst, the latest decline reflects ongoing distribution across the broader altcoin market rather than fresh accumulation.
The indicator reversed sharply after peaking in early 2025. Since then, the market has remained locked in persistent net selling with little evidence of a sustained recovery.
Altcoin Sell Pressure Highlights Weak Market Demand
The latest reading suggests buyers remain reluctant to absorb the growing supply entering the market. CryptoQuant estimates the cumulative buy and sell volume difference has fallen to roughly negative $209 billion, the weakest level recorded since the platform began tracking the metric in 2020.
While many investors continue waiting for a broad altcoin recovery, the current data shows supply continues to dominate demand. IT Tech described the trend as continuous distribution without any meaningful pause or confirmed market floor.
