Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Gets Trump Call Before $96B Results

  • Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang received a reported call from Trump during an employee meeting.
  • Nvidia posted $96.22 billion in quarterly revenue.
  • Nvidia continues discussions around AI chips and U.S. policy.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said artificial intelligence is helping bring manufacturing activity back to the United States while creating new demand for energy infrastructure. His comments followed a reported call with President Donald Trump during Nvidia’s employee meeting before the company announced strong quarterly results.

Huang responded to investor Gavin Baker’s post about data centre concerns, saying AI is driving investment in manufacturing, the power grid, and sustainable energy. He said these developments are being supported by market demand rather than government subsidies.

The reported interaction occurred while Huang addressed Nvidia employees. According to Wired, Huang briefly left the stage to answer the call before returning less than a minute later.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Highlights AI Infrastructure Demand

The comments from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang come as the company expands its role in the global artificial intelligence market. Nvidia supplies advanced chips that power data centers used by technology companies developing AI systems.

Huang agreed with Baker’s updated view on data centres. Baker said concerns about data center expansion were reasonable about 18 months earlier but noted the industry has changed as demand for AI infrastructure has increased.

Huang said AI is creating demand that encourages companies to invest in aging power networks and sustainable energy projects. He also connected AI growth with the return of manufacturing activity after decades of offshore production.

The discussion comes as companies face rising electricity needs from artificial intelligence workloads. Data centers require large amounts of power to operate advanced computing systems.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Leads AI Growth Expansion

Nvidia reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $96.22 billion, representing a 106% increase from the same period a year earlier. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations.

The company expects third-quarter revenue between $105.84 billion and $110.16 billion. That forecast represents continued growth from the previous year’s $57.01 billion quarterly revenue.

The market reaction was mixed after the results. Nvidia shares closed at $217.55, down 4.57% on Friday, before rising slightly in after-hours trading.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s role remains closely tied to the broader AI infrastructure market. Nvidia supplies advanced graphics processing units used by major technology companies building artificial intelligence systems.

Huang has also warned about challenges facing AI expansion, including energy requirements and data centre capacity. These issues continue to shape discussions between technology companies and policymakers.

The reported Trump call occurred during a period when Nvidia’s position in the semiconductor industry continues to attract government attention and investor focus.
