- SpaceX seeks $40 billion to fund major Nvidia chip purchases.
- SPCX slipped toward $168 after closing Tuesday at $171.92.
- Technical support sits near $166 as resistance remains around $172.
SpaceX stock slipped in pre-market trading after reports said the company is seeking $40 billion for Nvidia chip purchases. SPCX closed Tuesday at $171.92, up 0.49%, before falling toward $168 after hours. The financing plan adds a major debt question to an already aggressive AI expansion strategy.

SpaceX Stock Falls as Nvidia Chip Financing Grows
SpaceX stock reacted lower after reports outlined a financing package led by Apollo Global Management. The plan includes about $10 billion in bank loans and $30 billion in investment-grade debt. Pimco is also among lenders discussing participation, while the transaction could close in 2027.
The funds would support large purchases of Nvidia processors for expanding AI infrastructure. The Kobeissi Letter shared reported SpaceX plans to rely heavily on Nvidia hardware as computing demand accelerates. That spending increases long-term capacity but also raises leverage and execution risk.
SpaceX stock had closed at $171.92 after reaching an intraday high of $176.42. Premarket weakness near $168 places immediate support around the $166 to $167 area. A break below that zone could expose $163, while recovery above $172 would improve momentum.
SpaceX Stock Technical Setup Tests Key Support Levels
SpaceX stock has risen sharply since its August low near $104.83. The latest rally pushed shares toward the $175 to $190 resistance zone before momentum faded. That area now remains the main barrier for another sustained move higher.
The RSI near 69 shows momentum remains strong but approaches overbought territory. A failure to hold $166 could increase pressure toward $163 and then $132. However, a clean break above $190 would weaken the bearish setup.
SpaceX stock still trades well above its August lows despite the pre-market decline. The financing plan shows how aggressively the company is expanding beyond rockets into AI infrastructure. Traders now face a trade-off between greater computing capacity and a much larger debt burden.
