Bitcoin ETF Outflows Hit $225M as Ether Funds GainĀ

  • Bitcoin ETFs lost $225.2 million, ending seven consecutive inflow sessions.
  • BlackRock IBIT accounted for $202.5 million of the daily redemptions.
  • Ethereum ETFs attracted $26.32 million, led by Fidelity FETH inflows.

Bitcoin ETF outflows reached $225.2 million on July 23, ending a seven-session inflow streak for U.S. spot funds. BlackRock’s IBIT drove most redemptions, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT posted the strongest positive flow. Ethereum funds moved differently, attracting $26.32 million. The split emerged as Bitcoin briefly fell below $65,000 during a wider risk-off session.

Bitcoin ETF Outflows Reverse Seven Sessions of Inflows

Bitcoin ETF outflows followed nearly $1 billion in net inflows across the previous seven sessions. Despite Thursday’s reversal, the products still held about $274 million in weekly net inflows through July 23. The result therefore marked a sharp daily setback rather than a fully negative week.

According to SoSoValue, IBIT recorded about $202.5 million in redemptions, accounting for most of the combined withdrawal. MSBT attracted roughly $5.01 million, making it the session’s leading Bitcoin fund for inflows. Total spot Bitcoin ETF assets stood near $78.82 billion after the session.

The concentration in IBIT suggests one or more large holders reduced exposure. Still, one day of Bitcoin ETF outflows does not confirm a broader institutional retreat. The previous seven sessions had already restored a meaningful amount of regulated spot demand.

Ethereum ETF Inflows Show Diverging Institutional Demand

Ethereum ETF inflows reached $26.32 million during the same trading day. Fidelity’s FETH led the category with about $14.93 million. The result extended Ether funds’ positive run while Bitcoin products faced redemptions.

This divergence may reflect tactical portfolio adjustments rather than a lasting shift from Bitcoin to Ether. Fund flows can change quickly as investors rebalance risk, take profits, or respond to macro headlines.

Bitcoin fell to about $64,600 before recovering near $65,400. The decline came as U.S. stocks weakened amid renewed tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Bitcoin ETF outflows can reduce spot demand when redemptions require underlying exposure to unwind. Sustained Bitcoin ETF outflows would carry more weight than one negative session following a week of positive flows.
