Strive acquired 469 Bitcoin for approximately $36.6 million, increasing its total holdings to 25,000 BTC. According to its September 14 Form 8-K filing, the purchases occurred between September 8 and September 11. The company paid an average of $77,954 per Bitcoin.
ASST shares rose more than 4% during Monday’s early trading, approaching $29. Bitcoin traded near $78,000, valuing the company’s holdings at approximately $1.95 billion.
Strive Uses SATA Funding to Reach 25,000 Bitcoin Holdings
CEO Matt Cole said SATA preferred-stock sales supplied all capital raised during the week. The perpetual preferred security recently exceeded $1 billion in notional value outstanding.
This financing route supported the latest purchase without relying on proceeds from common-share sales. However, preferred securities carry dividend obligations and claims that rank above common equity.
Strive bought fewer coins than during the previous week, when it acquired 1,375 BTC for approximately $109 million. Its holdings increased from 24,531 BTC to 25,000 BTC after the latest transaction.
The company ranks fifth among publicly traded Bitcoin holders, according to the supplied reporting. Cole has suggested reaching second place by year-end is possible, although he does not consider that his base case.
Preferred Equity Ratio Rises Alongside Treasury Expansion
Strive reported an amplification ratio of 53.5%. Its definition divides outstanding preferred equity’s notional value plus debt by Bitcoin net asset value.
That equates to approximately $53.50 in preferred equity and debt for every $100 of Bitcoin holdings. The measure describes the financing structure; it is not a return earned by shareholders.
Changes in Bitcoin prices can alter that ratio even without additional financing. A falling treasury valuation would increase the ratio if preferred equity and debt stayed unchanged.
Strive also disclosed approximately $204.2 million in cash as of September 11. Its balance sheet included 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock, valued at approximately $49.81 million.
